I've just made a stunning modification to my PIC progam.
I've added 0x20 to the value coming out of the A2D to stop it sending control characters to the PC.
MSCOMM gets its knickers in a bit of a twist every time it sees EOF... it spoils my picture.Comment

It doesn't matter much, because the value coming out of the A2D goes from 0x00 ish to 0xc0 ish... so adding 0x20 still leaves some headroom.

I may increase the sample rate to 19,200 next, to see if I can improve the horizontal resolution.
