The sonic screwdriver is great! It has a UV nib - you then shine UV light on it to read the message! The lad loves it.

That sounds more like a pen than a screwdriver.

Is that what i is? A UV ink pen?

Does it come with the ultraviolet light too?

No idea on the first 3. I will suggest number 4! 5 is right size for tiny dolls. No idea on the gender confusion - I try to teach them that men and women are equal. But they are getting quite "stereotyped" these days...

I cannot bear the materialism.

I have never been to Bluewater and have no desire to go. If they let nobody else in and everything was free, I probably wouldn't bother.

I would far rather walk the back streets of Whitby in the rain, or traipse through a Dutch fleamarket or a German Christmas market.

She chose domestic toys.

Given all the efforts made in the 70s and 80s and 90s to claim "we're all the same really", those hormones are a far stronger influence.

Alternatively, perhaps having a strong father figure in their lives has an influence too. (That is NOT a criticism, merely an observation: does having both parents present make children more aware that we are different as adults, therefore they can be what they want to be. Discuss. 25 marks.)

25 Marks is not a lot of money, several European & scandinavian countries use marks as a monetary denomination, although many have embraced the Euro now.
