What should we (i.e. society) do with our NickFitz?

Having him sit at a desk in a cubicle cutting code to make some shareholders rich for a living would be Wrong. So very, very Wrong.

We need him out there in the InterWeb, crawling around and distilling its specialness and sending it our way.

We need him monitoring the dark places, the night-time, the doorways and corridors of the concrete jungle, keeping us updated on his keeping the constabulary updated.

We need his cultural feedback on the FMB bars.

His reviews of the Leicester Square film première stars was uniquely special: who else is out there monitoring the stars from above the stars?

There is no train with a pali without our pal telling us.

So, how can we arrange for him to have an income, without changing his lifestyle?

For example: could we get him writing the techie section in a daily paper like the one in the Gruadain? Journalist for The Register?

    Any other ideas?

After all, there are journalists out there making a very nice living being less entertaining, less informing and less educating.

(Or am I just patronising our good friend?

here here. cuk should employ him.

    I'm going out tonight
    I don't know if I'll be alright
    Everyone want's to hurt me
    Baby danger in the city

I have to carry a knife
Because there's people threatening my life
I can't dress just the way I want
I'm being chased by the national front

Concrete jungle, animals are after me
Concrete jungle, it ain't safe on the streets
Concrete jungle, glad I got my mates with me

    I won't fight for a cause
Don't want to change the law
Leave me alone, just leave me alone
I want to get out on my own

    I'm walking home tonight
I only walk where there's lots of lights
In the alleys and the doorways
Some throw a bottle right in your face

Concrete jungle, animals are after me

Rumours of its demise have been greatly exaggerated. Not posted for a while?

So yes, quite a while. Boss at AXA said that as Project Jaguar was about to bite, and hundreds of permies would be getting their marching papers, it was best to keep a low profile with regards to visible web surfing etc, so as not to become the victim of fraying tempers. So I didn't come around for a while.

            Anything nice happened?

              Ah, bench avoidance mode.

Anything nice...? Well there was a party in General today, and there may have been a few additions of note to the Classic Threads archive. Other than that TPD still drivels on relentlessly, and that's about it really.

Welcome back BTW - have things settled down at ClientCo now?

Yep, major client app delivered, onto the next one. Boss says next extension and possible one or two more are on the cards, so happy to sit out the slump here.
