I created it because some people liked to count in TPD, but that annoyed other people, so they were pressured to stop.Originally posted by sasguru View PostWhat's with that, you saddoes? Do you have small willies or somefink? I know I don't always post sense (or nonsense) but the idea of a counting thread, FFS, shows a serious lack of imagination ...
I figured there should be a place for them to go. If it annoys you, might I suggest that you don't visit it?
FWIW, I don't count there myself, but am quite astonished at how rapidly it's grown

Out of curiosity, why do posts in General count? The fact that somebody has posted extensively about their lunch, car, BTL portfolio or squirrels over here shouldn't be of any more significance than the fact that I've posted about such things (except the squirrels and houses) in TPD.Originally posted by administrator View PostYeah, I have had enough of rubbish posts just to get a higher post count. It does not make you a better person to have more posts you know.
Posts in light relief no longer count towars post count.
I think post counts shouldn't be displayed any more in threads, nor should posts in either General or LR contribute towards one's "title". Just show them on profile pages (including all posts everywhere, or better still broken down by category) for those who are curious about such matters. Ultimately they're meaningless.
Or perhaps just show the person's post count for the particular forum in which a post resides. For example, if somebody posts in Technical, it could be some guide to the usefulness of their post to know that they've posted a lot there, as it implies that they might know what they're talking about. The fact that they've posted a lot in B&C or General adds no information of any value.
Oh, and

Sorry, couldn't resist
