Are you sure they have your email address? Are they sending you emails?

The link below has some instructions you can follow, if you're reasonably PC-literate. I've got a mainframe background, and I managed to do it!

I've also downloaded Adaware and SpyBot to detect anything else I might have - there were a surprising number of things found. Good luck.

Jury is still out on wether it is legal, but it's easy to get rid of anyway.
No reports yet of county court actions.
I chucked a list of the .exe files they use on this thread somewhere.
Don't know if they have changed or renamed them in newer releases yet, I will have to log on to one of their client sites to find out.
If you can't delete them just rename them it works just as well.
          good luck anyway

Spybot works so don't worry about it.
If for some obscure and strange reason spybot doesn't work, then delete these files.

As for the files, you don't really need to be a PC pro.

Just run search for these and delete or rename them.

              C:\Windows\System32\mbsrm32.exe
              C:\Windows\System32\mbssm32.exe
              C:\Windows\System32\rmvalid.exe
              C:\Windows\System32\smvalid.exe

As I said spybot works anyway, and there are several other progs on the net that work as well so don't worry and don't send the sob's any money either.
Just don't download any more activeX cont's from dodgy sites.
Your firewall should have warned you about the download so chick it is on med to high, and think carefully before you click to allow anything through.

not sure why but spybot does not work at all. it does find the file, deletes it but somehow when i turn on my pc the invoices comes back. a friend of mine had a look at this with me and we did run spybot few times; also i could not find the files i was asked to delete. what can i do?

in control pannel, in folder options change to show hidden folders by checking the box and then clicking apply.
go to system32 and run the search in system 32.
or simply use advanced search and check to show hidden and system files.
unless you do one of these your search will not show the .exe files.
