I wasn't being pedantic.
The UK has always called Aussies and New Zealanders antipodeans, but never South Africans.
For the geographically challenged (not you SP), that's because Aussies and New Zealanders are relatively close to our antipode, whereas South Africa is nowhere near it.Comment

I think New Zealand is roughly opposite to Spain.

I have always called South Africans antipodeans. It annoys them loads. But that hasn't stopped me.
Because they took up rudeness in the 60's - 90's as an international competitive sport while they weren't allowed to do the other ones.Comment
