That'll be the camp I was in. Permie for seven years, didn't even cross my mind, never heard of APN til I got my SO letter by which time APNs had already got Royal Assent. Even now very few people outside contracting and tax accountancy have heard of them (my experience anyway)...

The JR will be heard in the High Court. I've heard that the hearing is scheduled for May. It may take weeks/months after that for the court to hand down a judgment.

Even it Pinsent lose, they may appeal to the Court of Appeal which would delay matters for another year or so. Beyond the Court of Appeal, there is also the Supreme Court.

Is there uncertainty over how long the JRs could delay matters? Yes, absolutely. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about that.

The only good thing is you don't need to decide whether or not to join a JR until you receive an APN. (In fact, you can only join a JR after you've received an APN.)

Understood - so I will probably be receiving my very own APN within the next few weeks as Sanzar users are one by one receiving the dreaded letters.

Will be important to understand what Pinsent's plan is if defeated and if so how much more ££££'s the joint JR will have to dish out to stay on the JR train ...

          It's a difficult decision.

Is it worth spending £900 to kick the can down the road when you don't know how far the can will travel?

It saddens me greatly that it has ended up like this.

I'm sure Saleaos will be able to advise on how much more will be required approx if appeal needs to happen (which is quite probable)

If other scheme providers also join up with Pinsent Mason, are they still likely to keep all the JRs seperate or just push them under one?

If "other scheme providers join up with Pinsent Mason", then automatically it means the JRs are grouped together.
                That's my understanding, at least.
In all cases, It's unlikely the courts will want to (or are even equipped to) handle dozens of concurrent JRs on the same theme.

Yes, I wasn't sure about this. I think my old scheme provider may also be talking to them as well. I don't know if that's good, bad or indifferent really?

My understanding is that all other JRs are being stayed behind Pinsent. In other words they won't be heard until Pinsent reach the end of the line.

I hope people aren't pinning their hopes on any of this.

Being party to any JR should realistically only be viewed as a way of delaying enforcement.

Yes I appreciate this. As much as I'm not in a position to pay within the 90 days, it really stinks that it has come to this. You know your fate is sealed but are just delaying the inevitable.
