I would imagine that a lot of people had hunches, suspicions and beliefs. But few people, if any, had direct evidence. And those that did were mostly the victims who felt intimidated into doing nothing.

        I really wish I hadn't read that.

        My mother died there.

He was an intemidating character - and bribed the police.

Maybe people should stop worshipping celebrities - hopefully everyone has had the warning now.

            I'm convinced they did.

they obviously had no conscience. For these people I'd like to believe in hell.

Yup, the original story has all the hallmarks of an urban myth in the making.

I still think it might be a good idea to buy up all the Saviliana one can get hold of, all those Jim'll Fix It badges and stickers and so on. People must be literally giving it away, and in a few years it might be worth a fortune!

Not trying to defend the guy, mind.

they have some idiot guest (Seta Gordon) on LBC saying 'there wasn't a culture of reporting or they didn't know they had to report it'

                feckwit or knobbled.

                http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-purposes.html

Taxpayer could pay compensation to Savile's victims after he 'exploited trust of a nation for his own vile purposes'
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt issues public apology on behalf of NHS
Investigations found Savile had at least 103 victims across 28 NHS hospitals
Boasted about having sex with corpses and 'wheeling them around' at night
Savile's left £3.3million in his will and will be used for compensation
But with dozens of victims, the funds could be exhausted by claims

Nothing yet about Stoke Mandeville, that will be interesting.

To be fair, I'm sure his behaviour would have been flagged as inappropriate.
