I'm also studying to increase my qualifications (PMP, APM). Not sure I can do anything else..
Anyone else having the same problem?
Nope ... managed to get a gig almost straight after leaving my last one in central London a couple of months ago.
Have you got any specialist products you have managed projects on e.g. SAP, Business Objects etc. as I have tailored CVs to highlight certain large projects that I have managed in the past as well as a more general technical PM CV for the job boards. Also worth having a industry specific CV where you have had several clients in the same sector e.g. such as financial services or online gaming.
Good luck!Comment

(iii) Professional fees
2.2.11 Where you indicate a price (including an estimate) for a professional fee, you should make clear what it covers. The price should generally include VAT. In cases where the fee is based on an as-yet-unknown sum of money (for example, the sale price of a house), you should either:
(a) quote a fee which includes VAT; or
(b) if this is difficult to calculate, make it clear that in addition to your fee the consumer would have to pay VAT at the current rate (for example "fee of 1.5% of purchase price, plus VAT at 17.5%).Comment

I'm confused
Humour me.
If a contractor is hired for £400 pd + VAT it's £480
Whether hieronomy charge 7% * 400 + VAT
or 7% * 480 inc VAT
the figure works out the same
7% of £480 = £33.60 (inc vat)
7% of £400 = £28 + VAT = £33.60
It would only be if they charged
7% of £480, + vat = £40.32 that it wouldn't be clear.Comment

Have a guess how many IT PM's have come in from India on intra company transfer visas for the outsourcers recently? and been subcontracted onto other organisations for less than you can afford to work for...Comment
