That wasn't my point though. My point is that people who have committed some pretty appalling acts of violence and have served time for it are indulged while somebody like Carol Thatcher (OK, I don't like the woman) is persona non grata for saying something that transgressed the PC lines that they've drawn in the sand. OK, stupid comment but it wasn't even broadcast as it occurred off camera in the green room.

I'm guessing they'd have liked to have done the same with Clarkson for the same reason but he makes them too much money.

So, if Barton is contrite about his past misdemeanours, and if he has a useful contribution to make to the debate then I don't really have a problem with it. But, by the same token, let's not just consign to the scrapheap the career of somebody who made an ill judged comment without giving them the opportunity to show some contrition and offering them a way back.

I still do not understand what Joey Barton said that was so wrong.

Anyone who has to go to bed hungry because they had no food and were not willing to break the law to steal it

Anyone who does not go on holiday because they have no money and are not willing to break the law to steal it

Anyone who has been able to attend an event because they could not afford a dinner jacket and were not willing.... etc

            But you get the point.

Anytime anyone does not do something because they cannot afford it has been snubbed by this.

            Probably

At least 2 or 3 people from the viewing audience were offended and therefore the media has a right to publicly castigate the perpetrator until he has seen the error of his ways. It doesn't matter that the vast majority of the public took no notice whatsoever.

I think he rather hit the nail on the head. It's not any worse than "lipstick on a pig" IMO.

He is still a pillock though.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

So you are basically saying that BBC Question time are happy to have on their programme someone who has done 6 months for a violent assault, but not someone who has said "racist" things.
Yes I am afraid it is part of the BBC's leftist agenda which is ultimately about jealous destruction.
Eh? How many times has Nigel Farage and member of the Thatcher on Steroids Ukip been on QT yet how many times has a member of the Green Party been on it and they actually have a real MP?
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.
