If there were any morality about taxation then maybe there is an issue. Most people however look upon tax a s a means to punish people for daring to be wealthy. I would further argue that gary barlow et al are better spenders of their own wealth than UK government.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Bloody hell, we still agree on some things.

OK, so essential public services need to be paid for, and we could debate what's 'essential' until we're all blue in the teeth, but I see a disturbing tendency towards jealousy among many people, especially when they talk about taxing 'the rich' or the 'multinationals'. It's not just jealousy from the left; at the weekend I was in the UK and had a look at the Daily Wail and the Times, as they were delivered to Tester Senior Towers; the Wail was on about Prince William spending lots of money to get his house decorated, and the Times was on about Britain's richest man. Why this obsession with how much money other people have? I couldn't give a stuff if Gary Barlow has earned millions by working away at the one thing he does quite well or some retail guy has done well by selling lots of perfume; well done to them.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

So do you think that taxation should only be used to pay for essential public services?

As I said, what is 'essential' is very debatable. I would include some things that others would not include, like some level of support for the arts; my point is about jealousy, and not the existence of taxation.

Do you mean jealousy, envy or covetousness?

1 and 3. Envy is a slightly less negatively loaded word in my understanding.

So the government stuffs loads of money to bankers, makes them filthy rich and provides cheap immigrants to do their dirty work.

And you expect people not to be jealous?

People don't mind those who are rich through working hard and creating jobs. Its parasites (like DA) which f**ks everyone right off. And immigrants who only benefit the rich.

We need a fairer society. Which we won't get under Labour - they are as bad as the Torys.

Which "most people" do you refer to? I would argue very few people disagree we should pay taxes - even the people who go to great lengths to avoid (or evade) paying tax are probably in favour of tax in a general sense.

Of course they are in favour of tax. Just in other people paying it - not them. Not matter how much they have its never enough. Never mind that they are going to die and take nothing with them.

                      SNIP.
Problem is there you have quoted two seperate things and made out that they are joined.

                      1) The government used taxpayers money to bail out banks - Correct

                      2) The government allows cheap labour in from overseas - True ish...

But the two cannot be made into 1 sentence implying they are in some way joined
