and untrue, the vast majority of a***hole neighbours I have had are ones with 'respectable neighbours' give me landscape gardeners and shop staff any day. They seem to have manners. Imagine having SAS as a neighbour.

Unfortunately you have to avoid calling the Police because you have report such things when you move. Make Friends with the wife she is probably used to her hubby upsetting the neighbours and might be a good ally.

Not sure a detached house will help. You get knobs all over the place, only yesterday the knob across the road decided to confront the missus over our dog barking in the morning. Effed and jeffed at her and called her a silly little girl, despite her earning more than his entire household.

I went out to speak to him, he was doing something with tools in the back of his shifty car and he pulled out a hammer to great me. He kept on repeating you need to sort the dog, proper mental. I can only see this ending in violence.

I'm with your neighbour on this. Bloody entitled dog-owners.

If he refuses to let you 'put a ladder on his property' then don't send the wife out to deal with it when he does it on yours. Go out yourself and kick him in the nuts.

Few hours later the police knocked on my door. He'd phoned them and told them the mrs had tried to shake him off the ladder. lol. (she didnt btw)

Copper wasnt bothered. Quite funny it was. My Mrs is 5'1"" and hes about 18 stone lol. Told the coppers she intimidated him and shouted and screamed at him too (she did that).

But its all a big game to him so I have got to be careful. He does literally EVERYTHING he can legally to cause hassle for us (objects to planning permission, builds fences right up to the border etc).

Can guarantee if I go out there, he'll piss me off and I'll be the one getting arrested. I'll bet next time his mrs will be hiding in the bedroom upstairs and videoing it - thats the sort of thing they do.

I'd be pretty raging if someone acted like that. I'm just imagining asking any of my neighbours that, and I know any of them would say "of course, no problem, do you need a hand?"

The world is full of @rseholes though.

He doesnt say much. I had a go and said how comes it was ok for him when hes caused all the hassle for us in the past and he said he knocked the door and there was no answer (had he bollacks I was in). Then said it was his right to have access.

But when I point out it works both ways he stays silent.

Some people get along with their neighbors and some people don't.

I've never seemed to have a problem but I'd still rather live in a detached place with a bit of distance between us. I just prefer to keep myself to myself.
