Jeremy Clarkson: BBC gave me final warning

I don't think Clarkson is a racist even if he accidentally or purposely used that word. Could be a slip of a tongue or a joke, doesn't mean somebody is inherently racist. If a black guy used a racist term for a white person would they be treated in the same way? I highly doubt it.Comment

Good to see that we have the finest minds of our generation working on the problem. The material prosperity of a nation is not an abiding possession; the deeds of its people are.

Have to agree with this. Using terms of a generation gone by doesn't mean you will actually act in a racist way towards people. Really frustrates me when people jump on this bandwagon. Using terms like this is stupid yes, racist? Not necessarily.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostI don't think Clarkson is a racist even if he accidentally or purposely used that word. The real problem is what he does for a living and when you are in the eye of the public you just can't get away with stuff that you might in 'normal life'. I personally think him taking the piss out of gender types was quite amusing but have to say there was no need for this. Interesting to see how it pans out in the next year.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

Exactly. You use all sorts of colourful 'traditional' language, but you were more than happy to entertain that Ugandan trade delegation on very reasonable terms.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostHave to agree with this. I would have been inclined to believe that if he didn't have history of using racial slurs.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostI don't think Clarkson is a racist even if he accidentally or purposely used that word. I am not of traditional "white" heritage myself, so I would be the first to point it out if I felt it was the case.....Originally posted by Unix View PostI would have been inclined to believe that if he didn't have history of using racial slurs.
I just think this country is becoming almost "too fair" when it comes to tolerance and equality. Yes we need to eliminate Racism but this is not the way to do it.Comment

Maybe not but if you are going to use unacceptable language in public positions you are going to get both barrels, be it because it's racist or just plain unacceptable. It's going to be a bumpy ride whatever you want to call it.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostI am not of traditional "white" heritage myself, so I would be the first to point it out if I felt it was the case.....
