How is this dealing with racism? Will the guy who threw the banana now suddenly become more tolerant? It was merely a humorous action by the player, now being pumped by social media as an cure for racism.

It's a way for the targeted individual to deal with it, saying "I'm not going to let you affect me, in fact I'm making fun of you".

With any luck, the banana thrower will be mercilessly mocked by his fellow fans and won't live this down in a long time.

It isn't dealing with racism. Any more than eating the banana was dealing with racism.

Yes, it was funny, but only that.

My post was an observation of the fact that racists believe that they are somehow innately better than others, yet failed to recognise the fact he clearly WASN'T innately better than the player he was seeking to belittle.

I seem to have either failed to make my point, or failed to understand the opening article.

            I disagree.
I may have either not understood the initial article, or failed to express my point clearly.

            You, however, are a tw@.

I think we failed to understand what you meant.

How I'm viewed by the kind of person who thinks racism towards rich people is OK really isn't going to upset me.

WHS. The sentiment was "you may think you're better than me, but no fecker pays to go and see you."
