As I said on the other thread about mobiles that doog started I have been with orange for 13 years and quite happy, transmitter at my house fooked up at xmas and have been having problems since, orange do not want to know and keep repeating the advert line that they have the best signals in the country.
having a month rolling sim and the ability to just move when you hit a problem is far easier than dealing with the network.
Anyway, I moved to 3 on Monday but they still have not moved my number as of last night when I stuck the sim in, they sent me a text saying that they would mail me but have not done so, ill have to chase that now. I can see myself moving to 02 next month.
Do you port the number across when you change? I wouldn't want to change numbers all the time as I'm not Heisenburg.
So having paid £240 for the phone upfront all I need to do is ask them to unlock the phone, give notice for on the contract and its mine.
Thanks, that's really helpful - and pretty surprising. I mean £13/month is a decent price anyway but I currently have an O2 Sim-only contract costing £8.50/month!
I take it you weren't already with O2 so you cancelled the contract and kept your previous SIM card? Since I'm with O2 they're going to make me switch but then it sounds like I can immediately give notice and switch back to SIM-only - actually the equivalent SIM-only contract is £1 more than the £13 one, but I have very low usage.
As for the phone its a bit big and I really should have picked the black one rather than the yellow one (didn't see the option when I saw the offer last week).. Nothing that a cover won't fix..
I can't decide. You can't really go wrong with black as a safe option, but I rather like the striking yellow one.
I had a black 820 and I ended up disliking the total blackness of it, it was like the monolith from 2001. Maybe it would be different with the lens on the 1020 which has some features.
I got a speck candy shell case for it, I don't get the phone till Monday, I wanted something that would be proud of the lens as people complain that it gets roughed up on tables. Want to try and protect this phone, I constantly drop them.
