- because she is looking at press regulation, and the papers are upset
- because she brought in gay marriage, and the Tories are upset
- because the committee of MPs let her of the £40k she should have repaid, and the lefties are upset
- because she obstructed the investigation, and MPs are upset
- because her aides tried to bully the press into not investigating, and the press are upset
- because if a Labour MP did it, they would be in prison, but if a Tory or Lib Dem does it they get a cabinet position, and Labour are upset
It's all very upsetting.Comment

Ed Balls and Yvette Cooper got a second home at taxpayers' expense not because they needed it but because they could.
Alistair Darling flipped properties multiple times to avoid CGT.
Years back when Jenny Tonge was still the Lib Dem MP for Richmond she was claiming for a second property in central London because she found the strenuous 7 mile commute back to her constituency too much for her.
None of these people were ever punished. None of them seemed to think they had done anything wrong. I suspect they are all so cut off from normal life they probably think everyone gets a second home paid for on expenses.Comment

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

Maria Miller is a totemic example of the modern political class who hold no discernible character, talent or integrity – the grassroots of the Conservative party have no time for careerist politicians who not only do not support, but flagrantly oppose, Conservative values once they are comfortably settled in parliament and cabinet.
Maria Miller has discovered that she has no base of support in the Conservative party, other than in Downing Street, and no base of support in the country at large.Comment
