The zealots like to use any extreme of weather to illustrate the so called effects of climate change. So I wonder whether ALL weather is as a result of climate change.

In fact can they please tell us what todays weather should be like if we had never burnt any fossil fuels and what would it be like if we now stopped burning fossil fuels.

I wonder whether you really grasp the relation of weather to climate. In doing so, I would not dispute that some 'zealots' struggle with this too.

I hope the bus is seaworthy.

The rise in atmospheric temperatures, as measured just above the surface, or in the troposphere via MSU satellites, has slowed recently. But heat is still accumulating in the oceans.

Hmm, huge masses of water covering seven tenths of the surface (and rising). Wonder if they can affect 'weather'?

                It would seem so, yes.

                      another good point DA.

                      Two in one day.

What happens is this - the glaciers started to melt at the end of the last ice age, causing sea levels to rise. When that stopped the land continued to rebound. So when seal levels are measured, an ajdustment is made, to take into account this rebound. 0.3mm per year is added.

when the eco loonies talk about sea levels, they dont realise they are actually talking about volume
