But the guys that used the stolen passports have been identified as having specifically purchased the cheapest flights possible to europe, and were planning on travelling to Amsterdam as a consequence.
More likely just illegal immigrants trying to get into europe for economic reasons.

If so, why not detonate the plane as it came into land in China then? Would have been much more devastating. And if they blew the plane up, where is the wreckage?

I reckon they tried to take over it with exactly such intention ... no need to have multiple agents on board to explode it.

Until wreckage or similar evidence is found, alien abduction remains a possibility.

The lack of wreckage is indeed puzzling. Even if this was the act of terror there would be some debris floating on the surface.

Without wreckage or debris one can only conclude the aircraft remains intact. I see two possibilities:

                1) The stolen passports could have been used by government (Remember how the Israeli security forces half inched a UK citizen's passport for that hit in Dubai?). For whatever purpose only a government or state has the resources to disappear an aircraft of that size.

                2) The aircraft is resting on the seabed after having flown into a massive methane release from the sea floor. There's been one or two earthquakes in the region over the last year. The sudden change of air density would have caused the aircraft to lose all lift. But if that were true the search & rescue aircraft had better be careful.

It's big sea there, hard to find for sure even though surely radars should have tracked it???

French airliner that crashed in ocean some years ago took ages to find.

It could be like this crash, Air France Flight 447 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, nothing too sinister but still took time to get all the details. Still, conspiracy theories keep the world going around. I reckon it was Tasmanian Devils
