                Ahh but the Britain that gave a guarantee to Poland in 1939 is not the same Britain that gave assurances in 1994 ... in fact fook it - it's a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing.

                  Before Poland Britain gave up Czechoslovakia to the Nazies. Historically British (and French) behavior was irresponsible and emboldened Hitler to start World War - complete and utter failure of (I believe) Chamberlain's strategy. Good thing this country had Churchill to make up for it.

                  Perhaps "call me Dave" would make a bold move and get certain oligarch arrested next time he attends a football game in London?
