Interesting I overheard two of the IBM bobs (yes happy to name company they are a joke) coming out of a meeting talking about how they were going to ensure that what was really nothing more than a small changing in wording on a requirement was going to be a CR so they could charge.

Why people use external contractors when they do not have to is beyond me becuae you are effectibely getting a rerource on your project whose sole interest is making as much money out of you as possible.

Getting paid is the reason I work, I don't look to rinse every penny out of them. Honest work pays and if it doesn't at least you sleep easy at night.

There is nothing wrong with putting the hard yards in. I'm often first to put my hand up and take on a bit of work that everyone else thinks is hard cos I know if I do it it's going to get done, it derisks the project and TBH if people think you're working on something difficult and critical they are a bit less inclined to bombard you with random BS. It also creates a good impression.
