I'm not sure to be fair I'm Welsh, from my perspective as a neutral it all seems a bit half-baked as shouldn't all of this been thought about before now

Yes. Those bits of cotton and metal have a lot of intrinsic value without a central bank. Having notes and coins is not having "infrastructure".
I have some old Italian lire knocking about somewhere - thousands of them. I must be rich.

They might get something like FRS since (AFAIK) multiple banks in Scotland do emission of new money.

That's assuming politicians really care about the electorate beyond voting day
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

One thing Salmond delivered is referendum that he promised - despite some people saying it's illegal to have something like that - he promised it and delivered, now it's up to the residents of Scotland to decide.

I believe Cameron also made promises about EU referendum...

Not a promise, a cast iron guarantee

It must have gone rusty by now...

What is devo max anyway? It seems to me that independence with currency union is no kind of independence, so may as well just call that devo max.

Since we're dealing in fantasy situations, why don't Scotland adopt Bitcoin as their currency? They wouldn't even need to print any money they can just trust the internet to look after it. What could possibly go wrong?

Scotland will join eurozone anyway - so they will have nice reserve currency, and zero debts - what's not to like?
