EU considers wholesale nationalisation of private savings
Collapse

It's about making it easier and more tempting for people to invest those savings in the EU. There is nothing in there about nationalising savings at all, that's just a product of the same paranoid "they are out to get us" streak that had you seeing a conspiracy in the met office site yesterday. Yes the EU is autocratic and needs to be scaled back but the idea they are going to steal all your money is just pure fabrication of a delusional mind. You really are potty. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.' -
Why dismiss the idea that socialists want to steal your money ?, the EU is a socialist experiment after allSocialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

Funny that. Socialists say it's a 'neo-liberal' experiment.Originally posted by MicrosoftBob View PostWhy dismiss the idea that socialists want to steal your money ?, the EU is a socialist experiment after allAnd what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

But "liberal" is just another word for socialist. The opposite of "libertarian" which is the UKIP ideal.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostFunny that. Socialists say it's a 'neo-liberal' experiment.Comment

Liberal can mean socialist or it can mean classical liberal, which is anything but socialist.Originally posted by KentPhilip View PostBut "liberal" is just another word for socialist. The whole concept of the EU is to take power away from the people because they do silly things like vote for Hitler or George Bush. And instead give it to a small bunch of people who know what is best for you. At the moment the EU is constrained by National Governments but bit by bit they are being replaced.Originally posted by doodab View PostIt's about making it easier and more tempting for people to invest those savings in the EU. Once National governments have faded away these people will have the power. Then if they decide to take your pension then they will take your pension. If you try and stop them you will go to prison for breaking the law.
What will you do then? Write to your MEP ?

You do realise you vote for them just the same as you vote for your local MP don't you?Originally posted by Flashman View PostThe whole concept of the EU is to take power away from the people because they do silly things like vote for Hitler or George Bush. That's interesting, the article I read has nothing to do with the title, I thought it was going to be about the wholesale nationalisation of private savings.I'm alright JackComment

They don't like claiming ownership for any of the effects of their ideas. They are far better at deconstructing their way out of problems than the right as a whole is.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostFunny that. Socialists say it's a 'neo-liberal' experiment.
Well in European usage, libertarian has associations with socialism, whereas liberalism has associations with laissez-faire. Americans, as usual, reverse this around, but the usage of these words has changed so much over time that it's pointless trying to rehabilitate any of them to their original uses. I rarely want anything to do with people who call themselves "liberal" in the political sense, nowadays. It tends to be very far apart from the classical liberal movement.Originally posted by KentPhilip View PostSo they've mangled our word - the bstards!Last edited by Zero Liability; 13 February 2014, 22:45.Comment
