Why?

Banker 1: "Oh, the cost of borrowing may or may not go up in the next year or so".
Banker 2: "Really? Well then lets give a better return to people who invest money now. Otherwise they might still invest with us and we won't need to give them so much".

Hilarious how banks want to maximise their income from the long-term loans they make, whilst minimising the costs of investments they attract.

You should go for an OND in economics or something next.
