Bearing in mind the content and context of the discussion, I thought MF's joke was rather good actually.

Of course the modding was appropriate. As part of that, the emboldening was reversed so those that arrived late to the party just saw a straight quotation.

I thought the same as TM, until I saw the reason for editing in small font at the foot of the post left by NAT. Then the whole story became clear and sadly this has rather soured my opinion of Paddy.
