I'd rather parties introduced laws and ran the country in the way they believed in
Totally disagree. Parties should run the country in the way the majority of its citizens believe in.

F* idealists should be shot and strung upside down from lampposts like Mussolini. There are no ideas or ideals that are a better basis for society than human instincts.

          Tossers.

In addition, did anyone read Ed Balls turnaround this morning about putting in legislation to ensure the country doesn't run at a deficit if they are elected. Isn't this like putting the Pope in charge of a child abuse scandal???
I am surprised they don't want to reintroduce the 99p tax rate.

In the meantime, more news of the wonders of socialism:

BBC News - Argentina to ease foreign exchange controls after peso slump

I know I'm a bit scathing on CUK about religion at times, but at least one can never disprove religious beliefs. Socialism, on the other hand, is proven to be utter crap over and over again, to deliver low performance for the nations who adopt it, and yet people still espouse it! LUNATICS!

It's stupid to run the country based on what the majority want because the majority want to pay less tax and have better services at all times. Also, if we did it that way we'd not have political parties because all parties would do the same thing based on the population.

Each party [should] stand for running things with certain foci and philosophies. We as a nation choose a party based on those and delegate the how to them. They should then stick to their position and act accordingly.

Labour is always big on the talk about clamping down on profits, the "rich" etc etc. It's the same boring, inane drivel that is always 'expected' of them, since they're socialism-lite, packaged for the sensibilities of the middle and 'working' classes (who they will still bleed dry given the chance)... and dependants on the government. In practice, they will deliver the same policies as the Tories but just find some other excuse for doing it. I'd rather just burn my money than see it going to Labour's aristocracy, but they'll do that for me through QE, anyway.
