I don't think this is real

Could become a classic bestseller. The content is a bit samey though.Originally posted by darmstadt View Post

Not that I particularly give a tulip, but they do seem to hold him in even greater contempt than most education secretaries.Comment

In my experience they hate all tory education ministers. If I were cynical I would suggest its because they want to make the schools better rather than the figures.Comment

Have you read the reviews?

Q97 Chair: Secretary of State, we are moving to a novel, new section: quick fire questions and answers, inspired by the Twitter feed #askgove-5,000-plus wanting to interact with you. So we are going to go round each of us in fairly strict timing. If you could give us quick answers, that would be great.
Michael Gove: I will try my best.
Q98 Chair: One is: if "good" requires pupil performance to exceed the national average, and if all schools must be good, how is this mathematically possible?
Michael Gove: By getting better all the time.
Q99 Chair: So it is possible, is it?
Michael Gove: It is possible to get better all the time.
Q100 Chair: Were you better at literacy than numeracy, Secretary of State?
Michael Gove: I cannot remember.Comment

It is perfectly possible to improve the absolute value of the average. Last year the average was 210, this year the average is 230 etc. At that point a pupil having a score of 210 in year one and 230 compared to last year he/she is better than last year's average, yet they are still average. Obviously a bit difficult to understand. It was the 'clever people' playing silly beggars. You are obviously easily impressed.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostHis aspiration is certainly admirable.

The new lie way of doing it is to change the strictness of the marking downwards. I would like to see them improve absolute skill.
Gove needs to implement the international Baccalaureate and force the teachers to compete with other countries gold standard and stop allowing them to de-rate our qualifications.Comment
