He's also on fisrt name terms with George Galloway who has promised to ask questions relating to this on his behalf. He's petitioned our MP and the MP in the constituency where his school is. Their main argument is that there is no demand for this as blind and partially sighted people only make up about 4% of the population. I would counter that with the fact that we as a family have not signed up to any of these services because they exclude my son. Funny that sky can offer audio description on their on demand movies via their normal satellite services but cannot when it comes to offering similar through the internet!

As for Katie Price - I have absolutely know idea how I could get in touch with here. He's trying to get in touch with Blunket, but apparantly you have to go through your local MP and ours is not very useful!
I would try sending them a tweet first or post on their facebook pages if they have them as you will be able to write a bit more about the cause. Well played by your lad so far, his tenacity and persistence must make you very proud!

Do iPlayer/4OD/Demand5 support AD out of interest?
I would have thought it was not against discriminatory laws because you do not have to use it....

but good thread and it will be signed n shared.

iPlayer does have Audio Description - not sure about the others. As for the DDA, in my opinion it is breaching the rules. Its like having a shop that is not accessible - there are other shops they can use and they don't have to buy from there.

I've emailed the RNIB today and sent my son Blunketts emeil address as its his little project. He is using Galloway because he knows that if you put a bandwagon in front of him, he'll usually jump on it and he is often good for getting press coverage.

I'll write on their facebook pages though as I hadn't thought of that.

Yes I'm proud of him. He is also pretty imressed with you lot in that a number of you have signed his petition and he has asked me to thank you. So Thanks!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

Yeah, good on him. A round of applause is in order but he'd not hear it

Signed - good luck with this, I don't see a good excuse for them not to do this if the content already exists.

                    Try the sighsavers ambassadors

                    Celebrities and ambassadors - Sightsavers

Gives a list of the celebs that support sightsavers.
If he googles each of them for the fan club/ media email addresses and sends them the same request you send us it might raise the profile ?

Lorraine Kelly in particular could be a good one - a pitch on her daily would be a big boost.

Happy to take that one up in person for you if you want - I have some time at the mo.
