He said between 2025 and 2050. That is different from by 2025. Happy to be corrected if I have this embarrassingly wrong.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View Posteh ??

i.e. temps are going up now (1988) . he didnt mean they would stay flat then suddenly leap up in 2025 - 2050 and hit 20f higher during that window.
he meant temps would rise in lock step with co2, and at some point in the window(2025 - 2050) they would hit a high. the high would mean that some points on the planet would be 20f more than they were in 1998.
it's obviously hype and nonsense.(\__/)

I've quoted this already. Read it more carefully.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View Posthe said 'this is happening now'

If the current pace of the buildup of these gases continues, the effect is likely to be a warming of 3 to 9 degrees Fahrenheit from the year 2025 to 2050, according to these projections. This rise in temperature is not expected to be uniform around the globe but to be greater in the higher latitudes, reaching as much as 20 degrees, and lower at the Equator.Comment

in my interpretation he claimed temps would be 20f more in the window 2025 - 2050 (in higher lats)
in your interpretation, when would temps reach 20f in those lats
please , please dont tell me you are playing with words OG(\__/)

He doesn't say by 2025, but from 2025 to 2050. That means the rise will occur between those two years. Or have I got this wrong?Originally posted by EternalOptimist View Posteh ????

In the bit I quote he doesn't say anything about what will happen up to 2025, but he does make predictions as to what (looking forward from 1988) would happen after 2025.Last edited by Old Greg; 20 December 2013, 19:46.Comment
