Be positive, I know its difficult but the more positive you are the longer you seem to last.

Some of my relatives have lasted 7 years+ with a 6 month prognosis.

Plan to do everything you can now. Your travel insurance costs will be stupid but do it anyway. The whole of the EU is your Oyster with the EU health card. See Rome, Paris, Venice, Barcelona, Amsterdam etc. Most of these you can do on cruises or short flights that can be managed even if you find travelling tiring. In a few years time you might notice you are still going.
I am lucky that with 15 years of contracting I've done most of what I wanted with regard to travel, a season snowboarding, driven all over Europe several times, been to a lot of places and enjoyed the food while I was still in top eating form, which was always one of the main attractions for me, being a greedy bastard. Getting stomach cancer is rather ironic really

I really want to spend time with my boys and significant other, and that's what I'll be doing most of. It will also give me time to play with all the expensive toys I've accumulated and spent years complaining I never have time to use, not unlike retirement. So in terms of enjoying life, I am actually better off than when I was working.

I am hopeful, if the chemo works well the odds of another 5 years aren't great but they aren't quite zero either. And from this point on every ******* day matters. I am going to be making the most of it to the best of my abilities.

Had my share of debauchery when I was younger

TBH thanks to contracting and staying single as long as I did I've had a better life than most. There isn't much I regret not doing.

Like I say, I want time with my kids. Thinking of missing them grow up is the only thing that really gets to me.

I've still not got the two 18 year old Swedish Lesbian thing out of the way yet, or stolen a police car, or punched Tony Blair, tricky to know what to prioritise.

I've done the threesome and puked all over the inside of a police car, though not at the same time to be fair.

Was never that into punching people tbh.

Would it be poor taste to ask Admin to change your status to "Contractor till I die" ?

Under the circumstances I'd quite like that as a custom title

                    Good call.
