I'd go with offering to walk there and then and not bill them for time worked.

Not bothered about coughing up a days pay and train fare to attend this interview but new client ain't gonna be keen that I'm unavailable after 3 days. I can feel a hospital appt coming on.... Hmmm. Wait till tomorrow and tell client or tell agency now and say really sorry forgot about this?

To be honest, if I don't go to this interview I'm always going to be wondering what-if. It really is a good one.

Can imagine lots of hassle with new client/agency if I hand in notice for this one though after a week :-(

Go for it 4x rate is gotta be worth a punt, is this the London Role?

At the end of the day you've gotta look after number 1, if the client was paying a decent rate then you wouldn't be taking this route so s0d em

Honestly - just go for it. Life's too short and it just ain't worth worrying about it especially if you are on peanuts rates......

I was going to say that, but it struck me it's not really your call when working through an agent?

Why would it be surprising a bunch of selfish narcissists suggest putting yourself first?

Yep London it is. So probably lose some of the 4x in travel/accom costs. Bit more than £14 a day this role is costing me.
