If you do not understand the facets of human nature in terms of self esteem, self respect and self worth then perhaps you should read a little more. i am not going to explain any more than say that it is how we feel about ourselves that determines how we behave, not about what other people think of us. the two of course are entirely related. if you can draw firm conclusions with so few data points then you aren't a SASGuru you are a SASGod.Originally posted by sasguru View PostIf you want to analyse data, go and put the years in to learn how to do it properly.
Otherwise don't complain when we call you thick on the basis of evidence.
Like the naive post above.
Please explain with references how you manage to do so. Or just insult me and fail to back up your claims as usual.
If you walk into a bar with 50 people in it and 20 are Ginger do you conclude?
1. 2/5 of the world population is Ginger?
2. You are in Scotland or Wales?
3. The Bar is having a "C.U. Jimmy" tribute night?
4. The McTavish family are having a Birthday party?
5. There isn't enough information to be sure?
If you answer anything other than 5 and want to ask questions then you aren't doing a good job.
Can you explain why so many countries are so far from the 'norm' they crowbarred onto the statistics?Comment

Johnson said that in any discussion about equality one has to consider that ability varies greatly and that whatever you think IQ is a measure of intelligence. At the one end we have the eminent SASguru and at the other we have the spivvy recruitment agent (I wont say which end is which, instead I will leave it with you lot to work it out)Originally posted by darmstadt View PostYes, as always.

It certainly is, but most of all it is determined by what we think of ourselves. It is totalitarian dictatorships and religions and control freaks that exert their beliefs on people to control how they think.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostYou think that our behaviour is not determined by what other people think of us?
Bringing this point back to equality. We can only be equal if in our minds we believe we are. That I am afraid is impossible.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

there may be correlation, but there may not be causation. Maybe those that allow inequality don't police their population as well on the whole?Originally posted by doodab View PostNo one is saying that effective crime prevention has no effect, but the point is that all other things being equal, more inequality correlates with more crime.
Of course there is "more to it", in the sense inequality isn't the only factor at play. In somewhere like the US these studies have been done on a county by county basis and multiple variables are considered and accounted for. There is quite enough data to identify the correlation.Comment

So maybe you can explain why what he said was rubbish?“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment
