I bought a litre bottle of coke the other day, not to drink the repulsive sugary muck but to spray on the large Christmas tree I also bought last week from Homebase.

The theory is that it will dry to a sticky goo and stop the needles falling out, but not sure yet if that'll work.

Was this a "5-pint brainwave"?
