I learned that my shares in permieland were effectively worthless so I dived back into contracting.
I learned that when doing a 10 country ERP rollout - HR would take up as much of my time as all the other business areas combined.
I learned quite a bit about Warehouse Management Systems and transportation management.
I learned I wasn't as good as I thought I was at Vendor Management.
I learned to play squash (have always been a tennis player)

I started learning a new language, that one will take a while

Learnt Ruby for a few home projects

Shot my first wedding on my own, possibly the most scary thing I've done for a while

Started doing product photography to help with my gf and friends businesses
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

        For work:
I learned lots about C++11 as well as C# and WPF.
I learned quite a bit about the client's software.
I learned a little about HTML5, JavaScript and SQL Server.

        For fun:
I improved full contact fighting with a poleaxe and spear (not at the same time) as well as with a sword and shield.
I lost 2 stone and kept it off.
Got fitter and stronger after completing the Insanity program. Might do it again next year.

        Highlights:
Surprising my wife with a trip to London for a meal on our anniversary.
Watching my autistic daughter dance on stage at the Anvil (yes, she was meant to be there rather than just running on stage).

        Lowlights:
My melee team not retaining our title.

Quite a lot of stuff for work and fun. Mostly I learned that sometimes it's wise to listen to friends.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

No the people who give you good advice because they care about you.

I learnt, and forget it each year, that senior management are cockwombles
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
