I have the iPad 1, which isn't retina. Going to Apple store at weekend to have a look and feel, but Im 99% sold. iPad 1 has no camera (no facetime), no iOS7, its laggy also. Heard good things about Kindle HDX but most of my family have iphones or ipads so easier to facetime.

While I reckon the Air is a great choice if you're upgrading from the original iPad, is FaceTime really any better than Skype?
