I have the iPad 1, which isn't retina. Going to Apple store at weekend to have a look and feel, but Im 99% sold. iPad 1 has no camera (no facetime), no iOS7, its laggy also. Heard good things about Kindle HDX but most of my family have iphones or ipads so easier to facetime.

Screen is too small, it's for lounging around the house watching youtube and surfing web etc. Old one is annoyingly slow, my lenevo laptop is too unwieldy.
