It's a win win for them, the people who don't like won't vote for them anyway but it make them look tough on immigration without actually doing anything

And it hides the reality that bar withdrawing from the EU they have little control over immigration anyway, and how useless they are at policing our own borders considering we're such a small island
Lefties? WTF has this got to do with Left/Right?

Don't you remember the Labour Party admitting the had an open door immigration policy after lying and telling the public they were tough on immigration

They wanted to flood the country with immigrants, with the racist assumption that most of them would vote Labour

It also kept the wages down which kept big business sweet. Don't forget they intended to screw their core vote!

Oh I see - you see New Labour as lefties? That's the first error - they are/were Thatcher lite. Second as I pointed out, the chaos in immigration was helped along by the Tories too. I don't think it's a left/right issue - all parties say one thing then do another - look at ICTs.

Nope, but I've had a fish flavoured one.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

It may on the face of it not be a left or right thing but it is certainly an issue of competence. The immigration problem has exploded under labour governance. the Tories like the economy and also when they last took over from a labour government are left to unravel the mess.

Labour see the public sector as a political arm of their own rather than as a facility that should be delivering a decent service.
