They could subcontract it to the clone makers, and make them legalOriginally posted by russell View PostI don't understand why apple don't release a cheap iPhone/iPad that is crippled/lower quality and cost. Say £100 iPhone and £150 iPad. The income they would get from iTunes/app store etc would make it more than worthwhile. People with more income would still buy the top end tulip.Doing the needful since 1827Comment

The same reason that Ferrari don't do an 1100cc Corsa competitor. Why should they cheapen their brand by producing trash? They have Samsung for thatOriginally posted by russell View PostI don't understand why apple don't release a cheap iPhone/iPad that is crippled/lower quality and cost. Say £100 iPhone and £150 iPad. Ferrari are slightly different though, in that they are part of a larger group that produces plenty of low end options.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostThe same reason that Ferrari don't do an 1100cc Corsa competitor. Perhaps that's what Apple need to do.While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

There's a good reason."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

"Need" for what reason? They seem to have raked in an absolutely bloody humongous pile of cash without knocking out cheap crap, so where is the "need"?Originally posted by doodab View PostFerrari are slightly different though, in that they are part of a larger group that produces plenty of low end options.
