I know that's what you'd like to think but facts might get in the way of your argument.

You do realise that there are other regions in the UK aside from Scotland and London and the SE don't you? Or does apple maps not have them on it?

The FACTS are that only London and the SE makes a net contribution (i.e. pays in more than it takes out). All your statistics prove is that you pay more than average and more than the Welsh and the Northerners. You also spend more, and you are still a net drain on the public finances.

Bavaria might have more money than they can shake a stick at it's true. But you'll not feel you're in a minority just because you don't have the same wealth.

Pisstaking aside, I'm seriously looking at a move to Germany too; NL's going down the pan thanks to a succession of governments that succeed in nothing other than spending more than the taxpayer can raise and busying themselves with side issues and while Dutch industry is doing fairly well, there's a lot more industry in Deutschland. Quality of life there is great too, especially in the south, but Rheinland Pfalz would be my first choice; good wines, good weather, houses reasonably priced compared to NL and plenty of industrials providing contracts. Can't blame you at all.

Rheinland, as I recall the folks in Köln seemed friendly and liberal. I think Bavaria would be a shock coming from the netherlands, it knocked me off my feet coming from Berlin.

Moving to Germany would be a smart move if your skills are in demand. If you're taking the unemployed frau with you, even better.
