I'm also glad it's not just me. She has a kind of anti-charisma.

The poor are quite often poor because they don't know when to save money and instead waste their hard earned pennies on needless extravagances. Whereas those that make it to the top of the pile know that it isn't necessary to present a false facade of success by flaunting extravagances. Those that become rich do so by knowing that a clean, usually more comfortable B&B at a quarter of the price of the ostentatious, but generally crappy, "businessman's" hotel are going to have a correspondingly greater amount of disposable income at the end of the year.

If the choice is between staying in a souless Hilton, Intercontinental or whatever, or a family run hotel (at half the price), where you can spend the late evening enjoying a whisky with the owner, I'll pick the latter.

I must have avoided it previously coz he irritates me a tad.
