London pays more than anywhere else in Europe. For top graduates, not half-educated idiots from ex-polys.

Yes the word "exports" means "to the rest of the world. HTH, BIDI.

Merely pointing out the big picture that advanced economies follow a pattern of post-industrialisation.
I forgot you're not bright enough for the big picture though.

Feck me! That's rather large for a titchy one-bed flat, isn't it? Mine wasn't much bigger but I have a large 4-bed detached house.

So that's the state of education in Scotland - people think water can catch fire

You might want to educate yourself a bit and not be a complete ignorant cock

Jeez, I knew you were stupid, but I underestimated just how much!

Just checked my last bill - £350. But that's for a large 4-bed house - with security light left on all night + we're not very careful at all with usage.
And the bill for a one-bedder in Germany is Euro 310?

Feck me, those Germans are in trouble and the odd thing is they didn't even discuss it in the election.

What is really sad, however, is how Lord Haw Haw just doesn't get numbers at all. You couldn't make stupidity like that up.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I would not like to see the jocks devolve. My main reason is to do with strategic reasons rather than economic ones.
i.e. we are stronger together in an uncertain world, and that uncertainty is getting greater from where I am sitting.
A married couple might have the odd spat, and might not get along now and then. but seperated ? you get a bitter old spinster and lonely old bonobo

the jocks might not smell nice or be the smartest people in the room, or the best fighters, but I would rather be shoulder to shoulder with a jock than a yank

I've changed my mind. I agree with you.
We could charge them extortionate prices for their utility bills, thus subbing ours, and they wouldn't even notice.

I think people believe that Scotland is the size it is on the BBC weather map where it looks smaller than Normandy.

I thought the plans were for a more left wing country, not a capitalist, everyone for himself nation?
Actions that drive a fairer society have a lot of support and do not solely focus on the less well off as you're keen to highlight.

Why should a working mother have to decide on career or child care fees? A yes vote child fees will be covered until the child starts primary school.

I'm very much behind supporting such ideas and will pay more tax if need be to support them.
