I love the E63 AMG, and RS6, I must admit, even more so in Estate form, as it's just so wrong. The Merc just sounds, and I hate this word, awesome.

I'll upload a video later of a friend who works for Mclaren and the SLR he had for a while (as a company thing, not his own) and it sounds like Elgar.

I'm just about learning to calm down driving mine, a C63 I'd just spend the day playing tunes with the engine.

I've had powerful V8's before (RR SC, RR Sport SC, and a 4.2 R8) however the C63 noise and power are incredible.

I've had powerful V8's before (RR SC, RR Sport SC, and a 4.2 R8) however the C63 noise and power are incredible.

They have different sounds. The AMG units, the older 6.2 and 6.3 units, sound almost primeval, it's a much deeper, angrier sound than that particular Audi V8. Close, but no cigar, is the older S4 4.2 V8, which was a darker, more rumbling V8 than the RS4 and 4.2 R8. The SLR sounds properly old school, and whines like mental, but with this tremendous background of the V8. With the C/E 63 you really would simply want to dance with the throttle all day. Milton Keynes would become a playground.

I got the GL to slow down a bit, and it's worked.
