3 years now (although it could be 4) and they've already asked me to extend for another year at the end of this one. I did a kind of contract at one place which lasted 7 years but had breaks in between where I did other projects and another 8 year one but I ran other contracts alongside.

“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.” -
My longest was around 22 months: the first eight months were on site down in Bristol, then WFH with a trip down there for two or three days every couple of months. Quite pleasant really, though I wasn't sorry to move onComment

3.5 years at Channel 4
3.0 years at IBM, six month break and now back there again, for at least another six months.
2.5 years at Centrica/T-Systems
2.5 years BT/HP/AccentureI was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Currently at 2 and half years and several extensions and am seriously considering going permie with ClientCo for a while. Would mean going into support but the gig is 15 mins from house and another contract would involve travel which I've lost my appetite for lately.Comment

My "client contact" on this gig went permie earlier this year. Having seen the rough details of what he's on, I'd take it in a shot to be doing this gig.Comment

I have realised that it is not the duration of time that I have been here that is the issue. It is the fact I am being treated by a permie by my "Boss" who is not giving me due respect for my experience/skills. Come December I will be walking and I will enjoy it.Comment
