Quite. Religion and societies in different nations are at very different points and change takes generations. Islam is probably no worse than Christianity was 200+ years ago and some day it will probably moderate. Much of Africa is still centuries behind Europe, but that will probably improve too, provided world overpopulation and food/fuel shortages don't kill off improvement everywhere.

On the contrary. I'm afraid its good christians that have caused much of this strife historically. There is most definitely no solution to any of this mess that involves religion of any faith apart perhaps Buddhism. More importantly,
if we reap what we so, then you only have to look at the mess we have caused in Northern Ireland to see the biblical scale of the **** up in the middle east. It was almost like we had a little practice on them before we did a proper job out there and even that little foray ended with over 200 years of sectarian violence... Whatever is coming back from our ancestors actions is going to be a long time passing.
