As a muslim contractor who doesnt take himself too seriously I am however appalled at what is happening in the middle east. The Israelis are bent upon a path of destruction that will inevitably lead to their own downfall as their neighbours unite against them. The question is will the West intervene when Iran eventually takes over Iraq (as it must surely do) to defend Israel when it finds that it no longer has superior military firepower?

Interesting question,I did pose a similar question last week as to whether Washington would follow the demands of Tel Aviv or Riyahd given the unusual vocal complaints from Saudi Arabia ... for my money I would have thought the Oiligarchy must give the Saudis preference given the latters leaverage of the US economy and the Global Oil industry.

Time will indeed tell. The Saudi dynasty will need to buy off Iran as well as Al Quaeda. I think you will see the Saudi regime collapse alongside Israel.

Perhaps the reason that the Saudis have been so unusually critical of this conflict is that it could ignite an uprising in their own turf, as for buying off Iran that is easier said than done given the Saudis bankrolled Iraq in the Iraq Iran War.

Who is to really gain from the turmoil in the Middle East?
