Nurseries: Surely you must know of other people/mates/NCT group etc that have kiddies in a local nursery? (assuming you go that route)

I had a nanny for my child when contracting in Eastern Europe. Had to fire 4 of them before we found a suitable one. You have to check on them at unexpected times. Wasn't the most pleasant idea to have someone sitting in your house whilst at work. Locked the main bedroom during the day and found out one managed to get in anyway.

Christ. So you didnt trust the nanny with your bedroom, but you did trust them with your kid?
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

Rightiio. In all seriousness, assuming you're not a sockie - did you use an agency?

But have you checked CVs and references for those who gave them reference?

Mmmm, Au Pairs. I keep thinking about getting one except my son is now 21 so it might be a bit difficult explaining that one away...

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
