Radio 4 LW have done that all series when play goes over the usual end of day. They just cut over to join the FM program without even announcing it, right in the middle of an over.

I don't know who the R4 controller is but, to do that repeatedly, he or she is an incompetent tosser.

They were quite within their rights. Fielding is very difficult in that light, I've done it many times. Sometimes you just don't know the ball is coming to your part of the field. Also, if umpires can't see the ball clearly either they can't umpire properly.

Boycott, Agnew and the rest have only got the arse because England looked like winning. You've got to be fair to both sides, so from Australia's point of view they were only 4 overs away from getting a draw.

I used to be an Agnew fan but during this series he has portrayed himself as a tit. He is supposed to be a commentator and leave bolshy opinions to the pundits. Brian Johnson never used to go off on one about umpires, players not walking, or play ending for bad light.

Should we be a little concerned that the Aussies have learnt to bat just in time for the winter?
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

England would have done exactly the same were the situation reversed, with no shame. It's part of the game.

Indeed, and we have done that ourselves in this series.

Well you can't offer light anymore it's down to the umpires. It used to be that the batting side would be offered the light and would decide if they wanted to continue. That is now purely down to the umpires and in my opinion spoiled a good finish.

                FTFY

I think that is the nub of what is upsetting everyone in England. We didn't hear any of this when England were similarly rescued at Old Trafford in the 3rd test.
