I saw Looper over the weekend. It's pretty good, better than the trailer makes out. Although it suffers from the usual time travel plot holes.

I watched Matt Damon going Cyborg superfly TNT in Elyisium, it was 'almost' as good as 'District 9' which was an excellent film.

Also I recommend Pacific Rim if you love monster movies like King Kong and Cloverfield.

Excellent, and its 7.1 out of 10 on IMDB is well deserved IMHO. Rather baffling in places, but all becomes clear by the end if you pay attention.

In short, without giving too much away, it's Independence Day for grown ups

Watched it on the plane. Loved his flying machine.

Thought the ending was pap though.

The thread title was "Recent Films".

That was nearly a year ago.

I did enjoy it back in the day though.

I watched pain & gain and whilst it did make me laugh, I didn't think the film was any good to be honest. Oblivion was OK but I thought it'd be better but I am look forward to going to see Elysium that's looks as if it's my type of film

I got dragged into watching the Liberace film "Behind the Candelabra". Didn't want to see it but it turned out to the best film I'd seen in years.

I also saw Oblivion last night. It was ok, 7 seems about right in IMDB terms, but it's one of the most derivative films I've ever seen - the plot and virtually every scene being taken from somewhere else

Oh how I crave a good new sci fi movie
