But 14th when it is the sport your whole country is crazy about and virtually everyone plays as a kid?

You all take it too seriously. It's only kickball. Much less important than riding bikes, running round in circles, knock over the three little sticks, hit the little ball in the little hole and chase the egg.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

yes but you will find that in almost all developing countries football is a major sport as it needs very little equipment.

Add in the fact that for some of those kids it is the only way they will get out of poverty and you have some pretty strong reasons why En-ger-land are not the best - merely very good.

That's equally the case in the UK, hence why players have a reputation for being thick chavs.

yes but there is a difference here - many of the uk's young footballers fail to make it but do end up with careers etc and at the very least they know they can go on the rock n roll.

in the developing world it could literally be the difference between life n death.

              Isn't that a tired argument?

There's 100 other countries whose kids play it just as much, and none of those countries are diluting the talent pool by trying to be competitive across the range of sports that we are.

                true dat!

Brazil are great at football - but how did they do in the olympics?

                Ditto Italy and France.
