Keep going. That is quite a record of consecutive dribble you are building.

You've got me there - clearly I am no match for you in the randomly insulting strangers on the internet game!

If you honestly think that insulting a stranger anonymously over a web forum makes someone a 'big boy' then you have bigger problems than your lack of historical knowledge and being unable to admit you are wrong.

          er...
I was trying to say, politely, that you are dull, unimaginative, boorish and ever so slightly boring.
and that your insults come from the 'ya-boo' playground and you lack any spark, initiative or originality

I always prefer politeness, but if you want both barrells. you can have em

          bang bang

Yeah, sure you were. I have packing to do for a 5 day trip with the wife and kids but you and the other 'big boys' are welcome to keep up the name calling and insults on here whilst I am away if you want to really show your superiority.

look, there have been a few comments over the past few weeks (and I havnt even been paying attention), but they seem to have gone over your head.

go play with it. The adults are talking.

You're right though. Determinism vs freewill is a philosophical question, not religious.
I don't think Pelagius or Augustine would agree with you.

Anyway isn't religion basically philosophy supported by superstition?

Or on the other hand, it doesn't really matter.

I don't think so. I'm studying the Reformation(s) at the moment, and one of the major thrusts was the elimination of superstition from Christian practice.

I suppose it could depend on your definition of superstition. For me, superstition is like throwing salt over your shoulder if you spill it, fearing Friday the 13th - that kind of thing. Beliefs, but there not logically connected to anything else. The whole basis of theology is starting with axioms (like "God exists", "God cares about humanity" or whatever), and then exploring that logically and rationally.
