        Well if you're going to waste our time with your made up fantasy situations, then why not waste HR's time too? If he's your direct report then either tell him how it is yourself, or get HR involved. If he's not, then snigger at him behind his back. Either way I'm sure you can ingratiate yourselves with the ladies by emphathising with what a cock he is.

              All the teams that I have built have had a racist/sexist element. Most would put Bernard to shame. I make sure I have mixed teams and just let hell rip with as much offensive stuff as possible. Of note the Indians loved taking the piss out of the white guys. The office banter is enough to make HR cry but it only tends to last a few weeks. What is left is a remarkably tight team that works better than any HR driven crap because everyone REALLY respects each other as humans.

                It must be a real situation There's a bloke in my team who constantly rhymes off Bernard Manning style gags, calls the female members of the team 'Luv' while telling them to 'Go get some tea, the men are talking' and slapping their arses occasionally.

                  The biggest real life problems I see:

                  1 ex public school boys talking down to folk with humbler accents on the assumption that they must by lower in the pecking order

                  2 on defence projects: ex colonels talking down to ex NCO's despite the fact both left the military years ago and their old rank has little bearing on their current roles

                  3 Indian outsourcers being vigourously racists, caste on caste AND anti British
